Located in Villa Devoto, the project balances warmth and restraint, blending natural materials, filtered light, and spatial clarity to create a setting that feels both timeless and distinctly contemporary. What was the core concept behind Cantina Sanabria?
The project reimagines the traditional cantina as more than a dining venue—it is conceived as a social anchor within the neighborhood. The design aims to recover the spirit of closeness, familiarity, and everyday ritual, translating those qualities into a contemporary architectural language that feels authentic rather than nostalgic.
How does the façade establish a relationship with the street?
The façade creates visual openness and permeability. Outdoor tables, restrained graphic elements, and generous glazing blur the boundary between public sidewalk and interior space. The entrance acts as a subtle threshold—inviting and warm—offering a preview of the atmosphere inside while maintaining a sense of intimacy.
