A cafe in Suwon, South Korea, with space, a great ambience and views over a UNESCO World Heritage Site
Jung Jiyoung Coffee Roasters in the Suwon district of Seoul is a character-filled cafe with a great ambiance and a roof top overlooking the beautiful Suwon Fortress. The neighbourhoods surrounding the huge fortress, that is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are super trendy yet quiet and cafes abound. .
The cafe is located in a repurposed old house with soft lighting, big windows and a mellow vibe throughout.
Upon arriving, you are greeted with a small, simple courtyard in which a few tables and chairs are available. Inside, everything is essentially bare and exposed with some added industrial elements like the brushed steel benches and old-style hanging lightbulbs. The mix of wood elements for some of the tables, chairs, benches and door frames combined with the concrete floors and walls (parts of which have been left open after being knocked down), feel presented in a unique way here. Despite the bare walls, the space feels warm due to the rustic looking tables and accents, as well the soft lighting.
