Adjacent to Lindfield train station on Sydney’s North Shore, Goodfields Eatery designed byGiant Designis a dining destination that seamlessly marries convenience with unique and playful aesthetics. The all-day breakfast and lunch space was created by father and son duo George and Anthony Karnasiotis (ex The Butcher’s Block, Wahroonga). The interior is adorned with lush greenery, infusing a natural vibrancy into the urban setting, while exposed ceilings and warm timber finishes create an inviting, rustic-industrial ambiance. Whether your’re grabbing a quick coffee or lingering over a leisurely meal, this establishment offers a harmonious blend of comfort and a unique style that welcomes all who pass by.

The interior fit-out includes a white pressed-metal ceiling and an oversized macrame hanging screen placed centre stage. A plethora of well-tended and flourishing plants hang from the ceiling and fill custom planters and shelving, and there are delicate leaves stencilled on the polished-concrete floors and on the banquette seating’s cushions. There’s an illuminated glass brick counter, custom planters as table supports planted with potted palms and decorative rabbits dotted about in various guises and locations giving an Alice in Wonderland vibe.
If ever a cafe were designed to charm, this is it. The food and coffee don’t disappoint either.
Star attraction on the all-day breakfast menu is the lobster Benedict. The decadent dish is made by butter-roasting lobster tails and serving with poached eggs, crustacean hollandaise and crushed peas on grilled garlic brioche.
There is also a crumbed eggplant dish served with poached eggs, labneh, masala-infused butter and crisp coriander. And a hearty dish of slow-cooked lamb shanks with poached eggs, labneh, fresh herb salad and pita. The fluffy hotcakes come with a generous serving of vanilla bean-infused creme fraiche, passionfruit curd, fresh blueberries and sprinkles of toasted coconut.
There is a custom-designed coffee machine that pumps out cold-brew, batch, filter, black and milk-based options fuelled by Five Senses. And this disarmingly charming Lindfield cafe also serves chai tea from Prana Chai, hot chocolate from Melbourne’s Mork Chocolate and a small selection of smoothies and malt shakes.
